Nagaon with its unending stretch of soft sandy beach with Suru trees lining its edges is one of the finest beaches amongst the Alibaug beaches. Nagaon is a pretty flat beach and one could walk into the sea for quite a distance. The suru trees lining the beach gives it a romantic touch. The Nagaon beach is a vast expanse and it extends to meet the Akshi beach to its north.
Apart from the Nagaon beach, Kulaba sea fort is probably the most visited spot during a holiday in Nagaon. Lovated about 8 kms away from Nagaon the fort is pretty well maintained by A.S.I which charges a nominal entry fee.
15 Kms from Nagaon on the Alibaug – Roha route near Salav village is the beautiful 'Birla Mandir'. Built atop a hillock, Birla mandir has Ganesha as the main diety. Aarti at the Birla mandir is performed at at 9.00 am and 7.00 pm everyday.
Akshi beach is well known for its white sand and abundance of Suru trees. Akshi located towards the north of Nagaon beach is a bird watchers paradise and the vast stretch of Akshi beach would almost always be covered in waders and great knots.
